PSC Christmas Party
As Christmas Day fell on a Sunday we decided to have our Pizza Sunday Club Street Christmas party on Tuesday 20th December. We were afraid that the weather might spoil proceedings so we brought down the gazebo to Grafton Street which looked great. We were delighted to have The Scratch come down to play and despite the cold they drew big crowds who hung around and joined in the fun.
Along with our usual pizzas (we managed to get some ham ones from Apache in the spirit of Christmas!) we also had plenty of mince pies and Christmas crackers to share with everyone. The lively music and abudance of food contributed to a very jolly atmosphere and everybody left with raised spirits.
Thanks to shoebox collections from parents in Lismullen National School and women working in Three Steps in Navan we were able to provide presents for each homeless person there on the night. We had so many presents that we called over to Apollo house afterwards (which is conveniently close to our base at Chaplins) with the ones we had left. The staff there were delighted to receive the presents as we had about 30 boxes and there were around 30 residents there at the time. We had plenty of support for our Christmas party and we’d like to thank everyone who contributed in making it a success.
