On the 9th of February and with St. Valentine’s Day fast approaching we decided to help our good friend Cupid by organising an event to help love blossom. We called it Tinder 3D! We took the concept of Tinder except this time we took it upon ourselves to organise the dates (we know how useless Irish lads can be at this!).
We promoted the event with posters in Trinity College, other local pubs in the area and on Tinder itself. Twelve lovely ladies and twelve awkward men turned up to give a last ditch effort to find love before the 14th. In good old speed-dating style the twelve guys rotated around the room every 3 minutes to chat to each girl.
We had organised some comedy in between dates to fill any awkward silences that may ensue but it wasn’t necessary as we couldn’t shut people up after the 3 minutes! We don’t know whether it was the free wine, the lovely decorations or the seductive music but it ended up being a great night and we know of two couples that are still dating! We also raised €240 for the club through donations from the participants so it was great night all round!
Thanks a million to the 24 brave love-seekers and to Chaplins bar for hosting the event for us and to everyone else that made it such a success!
